Payment and Booking Policies
- Photography workshop, tour or session reservations are allocated on a first come, first serve basis where participants are only guaranteed a spot upon full payment. All pricing is in Canadian dollars. All fees may be paid through our website links with credit or debit cards (via Stripe), or by PayPal, and also via International Bank Transfer, E-transfer or cash if arranged privately.
- Smaller Instalments and deposits to secure a spot will only be accepted for multi-day photography workshops, tours or sessions or on a case by case basis. If there is a remaining balance owed it must be paid 60 days prior to commencement of the photography workshop, tour or session.
- You will receive a receipt after full payment indicating that your payment has been received and that your spot has been reserved.
Cancellation Policies
- Cancellations for photography workshops, tours or sessions are not accepted. Rescheduling the date if our availability allows is possible so get in touch to discuss your circumstances. Receiving credit towards a future photography workshop, tour or session is also a possibility at the discretion of Mountain Photo Tours. This does not apply to any event which requires pre-bookings by us such as the Mt Assiniboine Wilderness Photography Workshops. Should we approve a future credit it will expire within 2 years of the cancellation.
- Mountain Photo Tours reserves the right to alter, change, or cancel a photography workshop, tour or session prior to AND after its commencement should we be ill or injured, for harsh weather, or for other reasons that make the operation of the photography workshop, tour or session inadvisable or deemed to be reasonably unsafe. “Reasonably unsafe” is to be determined by Mountain Photo Tours.
Return & Refund Policies
- There are no refunds on photography workshops, tours or sessions once they have commenced for any reason.
- Prior to a photography workshop, tour or session commencing a full refund will be given only in the rare event that Mountain Photo Tours has to cancel it for unforeseen circumstances. This may be due to a family emergency, illness or injury, severe weather, a minimum number of participants not being met or any other reason deemed by Mountain Photo Tours to be significant enough to warrant the cancellation. We will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by you in connection to the cancelled photography workshop, tour or session and always recommend purchasing travel and trip cancellation insurance.
- Refunds for any other reason are not provided. Rescheduling your photography workshop, tour or session to another date if availability allows or receiving credit for a future photography workshop, tour or session are possible in certain circumstances, but are not guaranteed, and are at the sole discretion of Mountain Photo Tours. Credit towards a future photography workshop, tour or session expires within 2 years of a cancellation.
- All cancellations, if refunded, will incur a fee equal to the credit card/payment processing fees paid to make the booking.
- Refunds or discounts are not given to participants should they be late, leave early, or choose to omit from activities on a photography workshop, tour or session.
Limitation of Liability
- We aim to provide a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for everyone during a photography workshop, tour or session. However, there are always certain risks and dangers associated with photographing in the outdoors, such as personal loss, damage to equipment and supplies, theft, illness, injury, or accidental death and dismemberment. Participants are responsible for taking care of themselves and accepting all risks associated with attending these photography workshops, tours or sessions. Mountain Photo Tours thereby does not accept responsibility for any of the above stated risks which also includes but is not limited to digital media loss, conflict between participants, foul play, and lack of care.
- You agree to sign a liability waiver upon meeting on the first day of a photography workshop, tour or session. Depending on the type of photography workshop, tour or session you may be required to sign two liability waivers. An example of one of these is presented below. They will be available to you prior to the event for you to go over any legal concerns with a professional. A participants signature on the liability waiver verifies release of liability of Mountain Photo Tours, any staff, guest instructors, volunteer trip leaders, and contractors.
- You agree not to hold Mountain Photo Tours or any other participants responsible for any injuries that may happen on a photography workshop, tour or session. This release extends and applies to, and also covers and includes, all unknown, unforeseen, unanticipated and unsuspected injuries, damages, loss and liability. You are responsible to research the event and bring the appropriate camera gear, clothing, footwear and personal items.
- Participants are responsible for obtaining medical, travel & equipment insurance for the event and are encouraged to also purchase trip cancellation insurance in case of any unforeseen occurrence preventing their attendance at a photography workshop, tour or session. This is essential if any type of travel is required to reach the location of the photography workshop, tour or session. Mountain Photo Tours does not provide liability insurance for the protection of individuals who may participate in any of the events planned. If a medical issue or emergency should arise before, during, or after the photography workshop, tour or session, the participant is responsible for all costs accrued, not Mountain Photo Tours.
- Participants must inform us of any medical concerns, ailments, or allergies prior to the commencement of a photography workshop, tour or session. All medical information provided to Mountain Photo Tours is kept completely confidential.
- Suitability to a photography workshop, tour or session is determined at a participants own discretion in regards to fitness ability, stamina and photographic level or interest. We will make every effort to inform participants about the photography workshop, tour or session prior to its commencement and work to tailor it to their communicated needs and abilities however participants acknowledge that they may experience discomfort beyond their expectations.
- Payment of the initial deposit fee and/or full amount of the photography workshop or tour cost represents the acceptance of all terms and conditions as outlined in this document. In addition, we shall have no liability, for any costs, expenses, or damages of any kind related to the participant before, during, or after the workshop, including sickness, unforeseen delays or failure of transportation getting to and from the workshop, acts of God, weather, detention, quarantines, strikes, civil disturbance, annoyance, criminal activity, government interference or regulation, and other causes beyond our control. We do not accept liability for any travel or insurance costs if a photography workshop, tour or session is cancelled.
- By participating in a photography workshop, tour or session you assume all risks, causes of actions, actions, liability, debts, and demands which may arise out of connection to our event. These terms hereof shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for the participants administrators, executors, all members of their family and heirs.
You agree that when you attend any photography workshop, tour or session with Mountain Photo Tours that you have read, understood & accepted all of these terms and conditions. By signing up for any of these events you understand that you are attending them at your own risk.

- We reserve the right to remove or to ban any participant from the photography workshop, tour or session should their actions impede on the enjoyment, safety, or well-being of others. No refunds will be given in such circumstances
- All photography workshop, tour or session itineraries are made to provide an enjoyable, educational experience for participants. However, outdoor photography is subject to many variables and certain environmental conditions cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to alter or change the schedule or plans, depending on weather, health and safety considerations, or due to other photographic opportunities that may arise as we see fit.
- We reserve the right to take photographs or videos during the operation of any photography workshop, tour or session and to use the resulting photography, videos, or recordings for promotional or commercial use. By signing up for a photography workshop, tour or session the participant(s) agree to allow their likeness to be used by us without compensation to the participant(s). If the participant(s) prefer that their likeness not be used, they must notify us in writing prior to beginning of the photography workshop, tour or session. The participant grants to us a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license to use any photography workshop, tour or session materials provided to us in any media for the following limited purposes: editorial use, promotion of this editorial use or promotion of our photography workshops, tours or sessions.
- Mountain Photo Tours reserves the right to change and update these terms and conditions at anytime and without notice for any future photography workshops, tours or sessions that have not yet been advertised to the public.
